The final NCAA projections for USC women’s basketball as Selection Sunday arrives
Selection Sunday is here.
The No. 1 South Carolina women’s basketball team will be the NCAA tournament’s top overall seed when the official bracket is revealed Sunday evening, according to ESPN bracket expert Charlie Creme.
Creme’s latest projections have South Carolina (29-2) in the Greensboro Region, with the Gamecocks hosting first- and second-round games later this week. His bracket has USC facing a to-be-determined 16th seed, with Florida Gulf Coast and Miami in the other Columbia first-round game.
Creme has USC’s first-round opponent as the winner of a “first four” game between Mount St. Mary’s and Southeastern Louisiana.
The other top seeds in the Greensboro Region, according to Creme, are Iowa State (2), Iowa (3) and Arizona (4).
Creme projects nine teams from the Southeastern Conference to make the NCAAs. In his bracket prediction, Ole Miss (6) and Georgia (7) are the other SEC teams in the Greensboro Region.
The other projected No. 1 seeds are N.C. State (Bridgeport Region), Baylor (Wichita Region) and Stanford (Spokane Region).
