East regional final

At Syracuse, N.Y.

▪ No. 7 Michigan State vs. No. 4 Louisville, 1:20 p.m. (CBS)

The Spartans lost in this round last year, ending a streak of at least one Final Four appearance every four years under coach Tom Izzo. Michigan State can start a new streak with a victory. The Spartans outlasted Oklahoma 62-58 in the Sweet 16. Louisville’s Montrezl Harrell was dominant with 24 points and seven rebounds in a Sweet 16 victory over North Carolina State. Only John Wooden, Mike Krzyzewski and Dean Smith have more Final Four appearances than Cardinals coach Rick Pitino’s seven. If Michigan State wins, Izzo will reach his seventh Final Four.

▪ Pick: Michigan State 64-61

South regional final

At Houston

▪ No. 2 Gonzaga vs. No. 1 Duke, 4:05 p.m. (CBS)

The Zags are in their first regional final since 1999, and this is coach Mark Few’s first trip beyond the Sweet 16. Przemek Karnowski had 18 points and nine boards for the Bulldogs against UCLA. Now, he goes against perhaps the nation’s top center in Duke freshman Jahlil Okafor. Having the best NCAA Tournament for the Blue Devils is Justise Winslow, who had 21 points and 10 rebounds against Utah.

▪ Pick: Duke 78-73
