Iowa State, KU switch spots in Associated Press poll
Iowa State and Kansas switched spots in The Associated Press top 25.
The Cyclones are ranked No. 9, and the Jayhawks are 11th, reversing their positions after Iowa State’s 86-81 victory in a showdown of the Big 12’s top two teams in Ames, Iowa, on Saturday.
Six Big 12 teams were ranked. Texas was No. 17, West Virginia 18th, Oklahoma 19th and Baylor 21st. Oklahoma State received the most votes for a team not in the top 25.
Kansas plays host to Oklahoma Monday night, and the Cyclones entertain Kansas State on Tuesday.
Top-ranked Kentucky was the lone ranked SEC team. Arkansas, Georgia and Tennessee received votes.
In the USA Today coaches’ poll, Iowa State is 12th and Kansas 14th.
Wichita State is 14th in the AP poll and 13th in the coaches’ poll.
