After a promising performance as a junior, Kansas senior tight end Jimmay Mundine is garnering some national attention.

Mundine was selected to the 2014 John Mackey Award preseason watch list, the Mackey Award selection committee announced on Tuesday. The Mackey Award, named for the former Syracuse tight end, has been awarded to the nation’s top tight end since 2000.

Mundine, who had 20 receptions and five touchdowns as a junior, is one of 38 players on the preseason watch list. Entering his final season, Mundine will likely become a focal point of the passing attack under new offensive coordinator John Reagan.
