Kansas forward Cheick Diallo has declared for the NBA Draft without hiring an agent, a source confirmed to The Star on Monday.

Diallo, a 6-foot-9 freshman, is not bound to this decision because of new NCAA rules implemented this year. By declaring without an agent, Diallo is now eligible to be selected to the NBA Combine and will have until May 25 — 10 days after the Combine ends — to decide whether to stay in the draft or withdraw his name to keep his college eligibility.

Diallo, who averaged 3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 7.5 minutes in 27 games, played just seven minutes in the NCAA Tournament for KU, with all of those coming in the opener against Austin Peay. He’s projected as the 36th pick in this year’s NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com.
