KU football fills out staff with hiring of Tony Hull as running backs coach
Kansas football coach David Beaty completed his football staff with the hiring of Tony Hull on Wednesday.
Hull, who will serve as running backs coach, has been the head coach at Warren Easton High in New Orleans the last nine seasons.
“Not only is Tony well-respected as a coach throughout the state of Louisiana,” Beaty said, “but collegiate coaches around the nation also have a huge amount of appreciation for the work he has done.”
Hull, who led Warren Easton to playoff appearances in seven of his nine seasons, also coached incoming KU quarterback Tyriek Starks.
Prior to his football coaching career, Hull spent four years as an engineer and worked three years at NASA. He replaces Reggie Mitchell, who took a job with Arkansas as its running backs coach.
Beaty, who had to fill five assistant vacancies this offseason, begins spring practices with his team Sunday.
