▪ ABOUT KANSAS (25-4, 13-3 Big 12): The second-ranked Jayhawks are likely to get a boost in the polls Monday, as after Villanova’s loss to Xavier, KU should move up to No. 1. Coach Bill Self said this will be a difficult game for his team, as not only has it already claimed one of its main season goals — a share of the Big 12 title — but a quick turnaround to a road game also means fatigue could be a factor. The Jayhawks, who have won nine straight, have road victories over TCU, Oklahoma, Kansas State and Baylor in their current streak.
▪ ABOUT TEXAS (19-10, 10-6 Big 12): The 25th-ranked Longhorns also should move up the rankings Monday after a 2-0 week that included a road victory at Kansas State and a 13-point home win over No. 3 Oklahoma. Texas had a good start in its Jan. 23 game at Allen Fieldhouse — jumping out to a 19-7 first-half lead — before KU dominated the second half in a 76-67 victory. Texas is 14-2 at home this season, with wins over four ranked teams: North Carolina, Iowa State, West Virginia and Oklahoma.
