▪ ABOUT KANSAS (20-4, 8-3 Big 12): The sixth-ranked Jayhawks are shooting for their second victory over a top 10 team this week. Kansas has won four straight games and climbed back into a first-place tie with the Sooners and West Virginia after Tuesday’s 75-65 victory over the Mountaineers. Landen Lucas was sensational in that game, with 16 rebounds and four blocked shots. The Jayhawks are shooting 42.2 percent on three-pointers, which would be the second-best mark in team history if the season ended today. But it’s only the second-best mark in the Big 12 this season, with Oklahoma leading at 45.1 percent.
▪ ABOUT OKLAHOMA (20-4, 8-3 Big 12): The third-ranked Sooners are coming off a 63-60 victory over Texas, a game in which Buddy Hield scored 21 of his 27 points in the second half, including a game-winning three-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining. The Sooners are 12-0 at Lloyd Noble and beat Kansas at home last year in the regular-season finale. Hield had 46 points in the 109-106 triple-overtime loss to Kansas in January, when Frank Mason drew the primary defensive assignment. That figures to be Wayne Selden this time.
