▪ WHEN/WHERE: 6 p.m. Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence

▪ TV/RADIO: ESPN; KCSP (610 AM)

▪ ABOUT KANSAS (16-4, 5-3 Big 12): The fourth-ranked Jayhawks are coming off a Big Monday loss at Iowa State, their third setback in five games. Front liner Hunter Mickelson may not be available because of a high ankle sprain. He hasn’t played in the previous two games. This marks the first non-conference game for Kansas after league play has started since the 2004-05 season. Landen Lucas has started the previous two games and has 19 rebounds in 44 minutes. Kentucky embarrassed the Jayhawks in their previous meeting, a 32-point decision in the 2014 Champions Classic. Bill Self is 3-3 all time against the Wildcats as the Kansas coach. Basketball’s original 13 rules, which will be housed at the nearly completed DeBruce Center adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse, are expected to make an appearance during the evening’s festivities.

▪ ABOUT KENTUCKY (16-4, 6-2 SEC): The No. 20 Wildcats bring a three-game winning streak to Lawrence, the most impressive of that run a 14-point victory at Arkansas. Derek Willis has been a key to the Wildcats’ recent surge, leading the team in rebounding each of the last four games. Guard Tyler Ulis has averaged 24.3 points over the past three games, including 28 in the victory over Missouri on Wednesday. The Wildcats have won three straight over Kansas, starting with the 2012 NCAA title game. John Calipari is 3-1 against KU, with the loss coming as the Memphis coach in the 2008 NCAA title game.
