Kansas football at No. 13 TCU: Three-minute preview

When/where: 11 a.m. Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas

TV/radio: Fox Sports 1; KCSP (610 AM)

The series: TCU leads 19-8-4

The line: TCU by 45

What’s at stake

In the grand scheme, not much. Kansas travels to TCU for its final road game before finishing the season at home against West Virginia and K-State. The Jayhawks have lost 37 straight games away from Lawrence, and this is the last opportunity to snap that streak. A victory is unlikely. The Horned Frogs are coming off a painful loss to Oklahoma State, which likely ended their national title hopes, and will enter Saturday as a six-touchdown favorite — at least.

Cheers if ...

The Jayhawks shock the college football world and keep this thing respectable. A year ago, Kansas led TCU 27-17 in the third quarter before falling 34-30. Kansas might have the blue-print, but do they have the talent?

Jeers if ...

Kansas loses another quarterback. The Jayhawks have already lost three quarterbacks (Michael Cummings, Montell Cozart and Deondre Ford) since April. Freshman Ryan Willis is battling two groin injuries, suffered last week at Texas, but he’s expected to play.

Rustin Dodd’s pick: TCU 63-17

The Horned Frogs have too much talent and too much motivation after last week’s loss. On the bright side, this is Kansas’ toughest remaining test. Things get easier after this.

Three things about TCU

1 TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin is one of the nation’s best quarterbacks. He’s also been clutch, throwing for 16 touchdowns and no interceptions in the red zone.

2 In 15 seasons under TCU coach Gary Patterson, the Horned Frogs are 72-14 at home.

3 KU co-defensive coordinator Kenny Perry was on the Horned Frogs’ staff in 2013 and 2014. His son, Keaton, played at TCU last year before joining Kansas this season as a walk-on quarterback.

Key matchup

TCU receiver Josh Doctson vs. the Kansas defense: Doctson suffered a hand and wrist injury last week against Oklahoma State, but he’s expected to play Saturday. Bad news for Kansas: Doctson has 78 catches for 1,315 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, accounting for more than 30 percent of TCU’s receptions.
