KU volleyball team debuts in top 10 after 15-0 start
The Kansas volleyball team made history Monday, appearing in the top 10 of the AVCA Division I coaches poll for the first time in program history.
The Jayhawks, 15-0 and one of just three remaining unbeaten teams in the country, moved up to No. 10 in the latest poll after opening Big 12 play with three straight victories. Kansas defeated West Virginia in straight sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-12) on Saturday in Lawrence, continuing its best start in program history. The Jayhawks were led by sophomore outside hitter Madison Rigdon, who was voted Big 12 offensive player of the week.
Southern California, 16-0, was No. 1 in this week’s poll, while Big 12 rival Texas, 13-1, was second. No. 5 Arizona State, 15-0, is also unbeaten this season. Missouri was the highest school among those receiving votes.
