Top recruit JaQuan Lyle to reschedule Kansas visit

JaQuan Lyle, one of the top basketball recruiting targets remaining in the 2014 class, has canceled a visit to Kansas scheduled for this weekend.

Lyle told SNY.tv that a newborn nephew would have kept his mother from joining him on the trip and he plans to re-schedule his official visit in the spring.

Lyle, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, is rated as the 22nd-best prospect in the country, according to Rivals.com. He is a senior at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, the same school that KU freshman Andrew Wiggins attended for his final two years of high school.

Lyle has built a solid relationship with KU signee Cliff Alexander, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Chicago, and both players have discussed playing together in college.

In addition to Alexander, Kansas also signed swingman Kelly Oubre during the early signing period.

The Jayhawks’ scholarship situation remains fluid. The departure of senior forward Tarik Black will open up one scholarship, while Wiggins is a lock to declare early for the NBA Draft. KU freshman center Joel Embiid is also projected as a top pick, while freshman guard Wayne Selden has been projected as a mid to late first-round pick.
