  • EA Sports rates Kansas Jayhawks 77 overall in College Football 27 release.
  • All other 15 Big 12 teams have higher-rated quarterbacks than Kansas.
  • Wide receiver Nik McMillian leads Kansas with an 88 overall rating.

The official release of EA Sports’ College Football 27 game is just two days away.

The latest iteration of the popular video game drops Thursday, but EA has already released its complete game rankings.

Unfortunately for KU fans, the Jayhawks didn’t fare very well. Kansas has an overall rating of 77, which is also its rating on both sides of the ball.

Perhaps the most shocking part is what EA thinks of Kansas’ quarterbacks. All 15 other Big 12 teams have higher-rated QBs than Kansas. In fact, four teams — Arizona, Utah, UCF and Arizona State — even boast multiple quarterbacks with higher rankings than any Jayhawks QB.

KU quarterbacks Chase Jenkins and Isaiah Marshall (both rated as 74s overall) are tied as 20th-best quarterback in the Big 12, per EA Sports’ overall ratings. Teammate Cole Ballard is at 70. The Jayhawks currently have a quarterback battle cooking among those three players.

Lest one think it’s all doom and gloom for Kansas in game-land, the Jayhawks do have an 88 — their highest-rated player — in wide receiver Nik McMillan. His best attribute is noted as “injury” (92), followed by “speed” (91).

McMillan ranks No. 31 in the Big 12 overall, the only KU player ranked inside the Big 12’s top 50.

Right after him is KU running back/former K-State running back Dylan Edwards, who has an overall rating of 86 and ranks No. 53 in the Big 12. His agility and speed attributes are rated 95 overall.

With a rating of 77 overall as a team, the Jayhawks are tied for No. 66 nationally.

Here’s a look at the Jayhawks’ 10 highest-rated players:

  • Nik McMillian (WR) - 88
  • Dylan Edwards (RB) - 86
  • Trey Lathan (LB) - 83
  • Cam Pickett (WR) - 83
  • Yasin Willis (RB) - 82
  • Jalen Dupree (RB) - 81
  • Nahzae Cox (WR) - 81
  • Tre’von McAlpine (DT) - 81
  • Bam Crouch (LB) - 79
  • Tate Nagy (WR) - 79
