Former KU basketball guard Zeke Mayo secures NBA Summer League deal

Former Kansas and South Dakota State men’s basketball guard Zeke Mayo will play for the Atlanta Hawks’ summer league team, Family of Athletes sports agency announced Monday night.

Mayo, a 6-foot-4, 23-year-old guard from Lawrence, who played for KU his senior year after three seasons at South Dakota State, was a member of the Cleveland Charge in the NBA G League during the 2025-26 campaign. He was not selected in the 2025 NBA Draft.

He averaged 8.2 points, 2.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds for the Charge in 36 games. He averaged 21.4 minutes per contest while starting two games.

In the upcoming Las Vegas summer league, Mayo will be a teammate of former KU forward Zuby Ejiofor of St. John’s, as well as recent Atlanta draft picks Kingston Flemings and Henri Veesaar.

Mayo averaged 8.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game for the Charge a year ago. He averaged. 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds his senior year at KU.

Mayo scored 28 points against the Westchester Knicks in a game in March last season. He was 8-of-14 from 3-point range.
