Cal transfer and one-time K-State guard Dai Dai Ames will visit Lawrence on Monday, his agent Adam Papas told The Star.

Papas said that KU is one of the top schools that Ames is considering. According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Papas is visiting Tennessee, Xavier and Ole Miss, as well.

According to Papas, Ames wants to join a team where he has a “chance to win and be big part of it.” Papas added that Ames has a lot of respect for KU head coach Bill Self and “what he’s done with guards.”

Ames started his college career at K-State. He averaged 5.2 points and two assists in 20.5 minutes per game for the Wildcats during the 2023-24 season.

After that season Ames transferred to Virginia, where he averaged 8.7 points per game in 2024-25 before moving on to Cal.
