Where does ESPN’s latest Bracketology place the struggling Kansas Jayhawks?

The Kansas men’s basketball team is slumping at the worst possible time. There could be NCAA Tournament implications.

The Jayhawks are 2-4 in their last six games and have lost two games in a row. KU’s latest loss came Tuesday night, when the No. 14 Jayhawks fell to Arizona State.

KU (21-9, 11-6 Big 12) has one regular-season game remaining on Saturday vs. rival K-State. The Big 12 Tournament begins March 10, with Selection Sunday on March 15.

The Jayhawks still have work to do to secure a top-3 seed in March Madness. And coach Bill Self acknowledged the Jayhawks may have slipped a seed line after the loss to Arizona State.

That appears to be the case, according to one expert.

The Jayhawks, as of Tuesday night, are projected as a No. 4 seed, according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi. That means the Jayhawks have fallen in Lunardi’s projections, joining Texas Tech, Virginia and Alabama as projected No. 4s.

Lunardi has also moved Kansas to the East Regional, which would mean games In Washington, D.C., instead of Chicago (Midwest) or Houston (South). Kansas was a projected No. 3 seed for much of the last month.

Lunardi projects eight Big 12 teams to make the NCAA Tournament.
