Kansas Athletics, which previously announced Oct. 17 as the date for the 41st Late Night in the Phog, on Wednesday offered more details for the men’s basketball kickoff event.
Late Night in the Phog will start at 6:30 p.m. that day in Allen Fieldhouse.
Gates for the 2025 Late Night will open at 5 p.m. At that time, activities on the concourse will include a “kid zone” and KU basketball equipment display, including uniforms, shoes, balls and travel gear.
Included at Late Night will be a women’s basketball team scrimmage and men’s team scrimmage. During the program there will be videos, performances by the KU band and spirit squad, as well as a halfcourt shot in which two individuals will have the chance to win $10,000 from coach Bill Self if they sink the shot.
There will be a notable change: This year’s Late Night will not feature a musical artist — past performers at the event have included Snoop Dogg, Run DMC and 2 Chainz. Last year’s performer was Lil Jon.
KU has announced that following the men’s scrimmage, there will be a “Late Night After Party,” which according to KU is “a KU student-only dance party on the court which will feature dueling DJ’s.”
Admission to Late Night is free. However, as has been the case the last three years, tickets must be claimed online in advance.
According to a KU release, “seating outside of the student section will be reserved. Williams Education Fund members will have preferred access to a limited number of reserved seats based on priority within the Williams Education Fund. All other inventory and unclaimed Williams Education Fund inventory will be made available to the public.
“Students will also have to claim a ticket online. Sports Combo holders will have access first for three days, and then general students will have a chance to claim tickets, based on availability.”
