See how new seats in KU’s renovated Memorial Stadium add style to Jayhawks’ football home

Renovations are progressing at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, with the interior on track for completion before the Kansas Jayhawks’ upcoming football season in Lawrence.

New stadium seating, featuring a “K Flag” design was recently installed in the north bowl by Irwin Seating Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan. The west side view level will display “Rock Chalk” in the seating pattern, and the overall design is enhanced by multi-colored blue, navy, red, and white seats.

In the renovated sections, fan comfort will be improved with seat backs on all north and west side seats, along with a 50 percent increase in per-seat area and legroom.

Suites are moving 80 feet closer to the field, and all seats on the north and west sides will be closer to the action. The first row seats are being elevated by four-feet for improved viewing and 2,300 club seats will be in three social zones to enhance the game-day experience.

For the 2025 season, fans can look forward to the new seating and scoreboard on the west and north sides. The east side of the stadium is scheduled for a later phase of renovations. The Jayhawks’ 2025 home opener is set for August 23, against Fresno State.
