Another Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball player entered transfer portal Sunday

Kansas Jayhawks freshman guard Rakease Passmore plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on social media on Sunday.

He would become the third Jayhawks player to enter the transfer portal since the conclusion of a disappointing 2024-25 season, joining big men Flory Bidunga and Zach Clemence.

Passmore didn’t play much this past season. He averaged .7 points and .6 rebounds while averaging just 5 minutes per contest in 23 games.

The former four-star recruit was ranked No. 48 by 247sports.com and No. 49 by Rivals.com in the 2024 recruiting class. He picked Kansas over Oklahoma and LSU when he was coming out of high school.

“Their winning culture ... they win a lot. I like to win,” Passmore said then about why he picked KU. “Bill Self is one of the greatest coaches in college. I think I fit in.”

Passmore played at A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, North Carolina, before transferring to Combine Academy.
