Kansas football’s 2025 schedule is out. Highlights include Week Zero game & Mizzou clash
After a long wait, the day has finally arrived.
The Big 12 released the full football schedules for conference members on Tuesday morning. KU now knows both its opponents and dates of play for the 2025 season.
The Jayhawks announced their schedule on social media with a cheeky video in Johnny’s Tavern to promote “packing the booth,” a play on the phrase KU fans use regarding filling up David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
The Jayhawks will begin their season in “Week Zero” vs. Fresno State in the newly renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. The Jayhawks will play Wagner the following week before traveling to Columbia to play rival Missouri. The Jayhawks have a bye week after that.
KU begins conference play vs. WVU on Sept. 20. KU has two more bye weeks in conference play.
The Jayhawks (5-7,4-5) enter 2025 off an up-and-down season in which they failed to meet expectations. Kansas didn’t make a bowl game, ending a two-year bowl streak.
Arizona State won the Big 12 over Iowa State but ultimately lost to Texas in the new-look College Football Playoff. Ohio State defeated Notre Dame to win the national championship.
