Will KU point guard Dajuan Harris return vs. Baylor? Here’s what coach Bill Self said

The Kansas Jayhawks survived one game without starting point guard Dajuan Harris.

Harris missed KU’s victory over UCF on Tuesday after tweaking his ankle during Monday’s practice. According to KU coach Bill Self, Harris’ absence was a surprise.

“We thought he was playing this morning,” Self said. “Obviously, he goes out to shootaround and couldn’t do anything on it. Fortunately, it’s Tuesday. Tomorrow will be an off day — treatment all day. Then, we will see if he’s a go (for practice) on Thursday.”

By missing the game, Harris broke his 98-game starting streak.

The Jayhawks will travel to Waco on Saturday to play Baylor. Self is unsure if Harris will play.

“I don’t know,” Self said on if Harris will be back. “I certainly hope so.”

The sixth-year guard averages 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 31.9 minutes per game.

The Jayhawks started Rylan Griffen with Harris out on Tuesday. They narrowly defeated UCF 91-87 after making four free throws in the final moments.
