How far did Kansas Jayhawks basketball fall in AP Top 25 after back-to-back losses?

Kansas, which had been ranked No. 1 in the country since the start of the 2024-25 college basketball season, has dropped to No. 10 in this week’s Associated Press top 25 rankings.

Road losses to Creighton (76-63) on Wednesday and Missouri (76-67) on Sunday followed seven consecutive wins, including victories over North Carolina, Michigan State and Duke, to open the season.

Missouri (8-1), which led KU by as many as 24 points in the second half Sunday at Mizzou Arena, appeared in the others receiving votes category Monday.

Tennessee is the new No. 1 followed by No. 2 Auburn, No. 3 Iowa State, No. 4 Duke, No. 5 Kentucky, No. 6 Marquette, No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 Gonzaga, No. 9 Florida and No. 10 KU.

Starting with No. 11, the rankings continue with: Purdue, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan, Houston, Clemson, Texas A&M, UConn, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Cincinnati, San Diego State, UCLA and Mississippi State.

Others receiving votes and their point totals: Baylor 150, Arizona State 143, Memphis 123, Missouri 119, Penn State 90, Arkansas 89, Drake 67, Pittsburgh 62, Utah State 57, Illinois 47, St. John’s 43, Maryland 39, Dayton 38, Creighton 32, Indiana 30, West Virginia 30, North Carolina 24, Georgia 21, Saint Mary’s 20, Texas 8, Rhode Island 3, Loyola Chicago 1.

KU will next meet North Carolina State at 2:15 p.m. Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.
