Kansas will play at Arrowhead. See dates (& locations) for 2024 KU football schedule

Kansas football fans, the wait is finally over.

The Big 12 released the full football schedule for conference members on Tuesday morning. The Jayhawks now know the dates they’ll play each opponent in the 2024 season, a year in which four more newcomers — Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah — join the Big 12.

Perhaps, more importantly, KU fans finally know where the Jayhawks will play their home games.

Due to ongoing renovations at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, KU will play its home games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the defending NFL champion Kansas City Chiefs, and Sporting KC’s Children’s Mercy Park.

KU will play two nonconference games against Lindenwood and UNLV, both of which will be played at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas. Meanwhile, Kansas play all four conference home games at Arrowhead, in Kansas City, Missouri: TCU, Colorado, Iowa State and Houston.

“This plan for the 2024 season has an incredible number of benefits for our student-athletes, our fans and supporters, our campus partners and the Kansas Football program,” said Kansas athletic director Travis Goff in a release. “While we are disappointed we can’t play in Lawrence, ultimately, we want to create the best possible experience for all involved, and playing two games at Children’s Mercy Park and four games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium allows us to do that.

“It has been a thrill to see construction begin in earnest in Lawrence on the Gateway District and David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, and this decision allows that construction to continue on a necessary timeline while also benefiting the overall budget of the project and the 2024 fan experience.”

The Jayhawks (9-4, 5-4 Big 12) earned their first win since 2008 this past season, beating UNLV in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

KU started the season 4-0 but received a notable blow when quarterback Jalon Daniels was taken out of the lineup due to a back injury. Backup quarterback Jason Bean took over and didn’t miss a beat. He led KU to five regular-season victories and a sixth in the bowl game.

Texas became the Big 12 champion after defeating Oklahoma State in the title game, but UT ultimately lost to national runner-up Washington in the College Football Playoff.

Michigan defeated Washington to win the national championship.

As for the Big 12’s newcomers, the schools had varying levels of success last season. Arizona and Utah both finished above .500, while Colorado and ASU finished with four and three wins, respectively.

It’s the third time in the conference’s 27 years of existence that new members were added — last year, the Big 12 added Houston, Cincinnati, UCF and BYU.

Now, let’s take a look at the Jayhawks’ full schedule for 2024…
