Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant announces decision for next football season
The new year is already off to a good start for the Kansas Jayhawks.
Kansas cornerback Cobee Bryant will return for his senior season, he announced on Monday.
Bryant posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing his highlights. At the end of the video, he announced: “I’m back.”
Included in the caption of the post were the words: “Revenge Tour.”
Bryant started 12 of KU’s 13 games this fall after missing a half against Nevada due to a targeting suspension. He was rarely targeted in coverage but still finished with 32 tackles, nine pass deflections and four interceptions.
Bryant earned All-Big 12 first-team honors for the second straight season. He had a couple of memorable highlights, including his forced fumble and score against BYU and his one-handed interception against Cincinnati, to name a few.
He was also named Big 12 Player of the Week for his play against the Cougars.
Bryant’s announcement means the Jayhawks are bringing back their starting cornerback duo from 2023. Also returning is cornerback Mello Dotson, giving KU the highest-graded returning cornerbacks in the Big 12, according to Pro Football Focus.
