Will Kansas play games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead? What about bowl gifts? It’s Q&A time

At the height of the holiday season, now is a good time to give thanks.

I appreciate everyone who has read my work, shared questions for mailbags and sent me feedback (good and bad — though it has been primarily good) from the bottom of my heart.

Interacting with the Jayhawks fanbase makes this job that much more fun. So, thank you for that.

I hope you have a happy holiday season and a great New Year!

With that, let’s get right into another Kansas Jayhawks Q&A!

When will KU decide where they will play football home games in 2024? — @fretrman

A source close to the program tells The Star that KU is discussing with the Chiefs the possibility of playing home games at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium: how many games would be played at Arrowhead, if any — that sort of thing. It appears KU hasn’t ruled out playing all, or perhaps just a few, of its games there next season.

I anticipate a formal announcement in the next month or two.

Has JD6 been practicing prior to the bowl game? Not so much for the game as to prepare for next season? If not, how realistic is it to think he will be fully healthy for all of next year? – @WilmHanna

From what I’ve been told, Daniels has not been practicing. I think it’s too early to say at this point. I think it’s slightly concerning that it’s been months since he’s been fully healthy, but luckily for him and the Jayhawks, there’s a long time before spring ball.

What was in the gift bag for the KU football players for the bowl game? -- @MrJaKaRa

The Jayhawks received a Guaranteed Rate leather bag, a Ridge wallet, Oakley Sunglasses and some apparel.

Given who we know is coming back and the recruits coming in, how would you rate #kufball’s 2024 defense on paper as of now? – @bluewingsrise

If cornerback Cobee Bryant returns for another season, I feel pretty good about the defense overall. The departure of Gage Keys to Auburn and what appears to be a likely departure for Austin Booker are some big losses for Kansas.

But the Jayhawks’ internal development and transfer-portal pickups will help alleviate some of that concern.

It’s a little early to say of course, but I expect KU’s defense to be about as good as it was this year, if not better.
