Kansas football wide receiver Tanaka Scott enters the transfer portal | Reports
Kansas redshirt-sophomore wide receiver Tanaka Scott has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple media reports, including from 247Sports.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Scott, a native of Mobile, Alabama, played in nine games for the Jayhawks this season, catching nine passes for 31 yards. Scott struggled to earn playing time in a crowded wide receivers room in 2023.
On KU’s depth chart, Scott was usually a second-string wide receiver behind Lawrence Arnold.
Scott played a bit more in the 2022 season, playing in 12 games and finishing with 12 catches for 108 yards. Before the 2022 season, Scott dealt with legal issues that led to a one-game suspension.
He was a three-star recruit coming out high school, according to Rivals.com and the 247Sports Composite rankings. Scott picked the Jayhawks over Coastal Carolina, Georgia State and other schools.
Scott was a member of the high school recruiting class of 2021, under former coach Les Miles. He was recruited to the Jayhawks in part by former Kansas offensive coordinator Brent Dearmon and wideouts coach Emmett Jones.
