Chaminade lost to Alaska Anchorage, 77-72, then defeated Alaska, 80-72, in a pair of games contested in Fairbanks, Alaska. Then on Thursday the Silverswords dropped their Pacific West Conference opener to Hawaii Hilo, 90-86, in overtime in Honolulu. Senior guard Isaac Amaral-Artharee, the team’s leading scorer, scored 26 points in the loss to Hilo …. Amaral-Artharee, a three-time all-Pac West selection was recently selected to the preseason all-Pac West team. He has led the Silverswords in scoring in each of the last three seasons including a career-best 16.1 points per game in ‘22-23. The redshirt senior is in his fifth year of playing eligibility, thanks to the season-of-competition waiver granted to players who had playing seasons affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-21. …The Silverswords, who are led by 13th-year coach Eric Bovaird, have finished under .500 the last three seasons.
