Here’s where KU, K-State and Mizzou sit in updated College Football Playoff rankings
The second edition of the College Football Playoff rankings dropped Tuesday, and Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri remained in the top 25.
Of the three, Kansas was the only team to move up in the rankings. The 7-2 Jayhawks jumped from No. 21 in the first CFP reveal to No. 16 this week after a 28-21 win over Iowa State in Ames on Saturday.
Mizzou dropped only two spots this week, going from No. 12 to No. 14, after a 30-21 loss in Athens to No. 2 Georgia, who stayed in the No. 2 spot this week.
Notably, Kansas and Missouri are ranked ahead of college football powers Oklahoma (No. 17), LSU (No. 19) and Notre Dame (No. 20). Big 12 school Oklahoma State (No. 15) also made the list.
Meanwhile, Kansas State fell two spots this week, going from No. 23 to No. 25, after the 6-3 Wildcats lost a 33-30 OT thriller to No. 7 Texas. K-State fought back from a 24-7 deficit to tie the score at 27-all in the fourth quarter, but a fourth-down stop at the 4-yard line secured the win for the Longhorns.
The top four didn’t change this week, with Ohio State still holding the No. 1 spot followed by No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Michigan, and No. 4 Florida State.
The rest of the top 10: No. 5 Washington, No. 6 Oregon, No. 7 Texas, No. 8 Alabama, No. 9 Ole Miss and No. 10 Penn State.
Missouri faces No. 13 Tennessee this week back in Columbia.
