Kansas, which stretched its winning streak to six games by defeating TCU on the road and West Virginia at home, remains ranked No. 3 in this week’s AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll.

The Jayhawks (24-5, 12-4 Big 12) received eight first-place votes, one more than a week ago. The current poll was released Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the top two teams remained the same. Houston (27-2), a winner at East Carolina and at home against Tulane, is No. 1 with 49 first-place votes. Alabama (25-4), a winner last week at South Carolina and at home over Arkansas, stayed No. 2 with five first-place votes.

Kansas State (22-7), 2-0 last week with wins at home against Baylor and at Oklahoma State, moved from No. 14 to No. 11.

Missouri (a winner at Georgia and at home against Mississippi State) remains in the “others receiving votes” category. The Tigers are 21-8.

So it’s Houston at No. 1, Alabama at No. 2 and KU at No. 3, followed by UCLA, Purdue, Marquette, Baylor, Arizona, Texas, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Tennessee, Virginia, UConn, Indiana, Miami, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, Xavier, Providence, Maryland, TCU, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Pittsburgh.

Others receiving votes: Creighton, Duke, Oral Roberts, Northwestern, Florida Atlantic, Iowa State, Nevada, Missouri, Arkansas, North Carolina State, Charleston, Clemson, Memphis, Boise State, VCU and West Virginia.

KU will next meet Texas Tech at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Allen Fieldhouse.
