Scotty Middleton, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound senior men’s basketball small forward from Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, will reveal his college choice on Aug. 6 on Instagram Live with ESPN analyst Paul Biancardi, Middleton announced Sunday.

Middleton will choose among Kansas, Ohio State, UConn, Texas A&M and Seton Hall. Some analysts have listed Ohio State as the leader for Middleton, who plays for Brad Beal Elite AAU on the summer AAU circuit.

Middleton — he was born in South Carolina then moved to Miami in sixth grade — is ranked No. 18 in the recruiting Class of 2023 by ESPN.com, No. 36 by 247sports.com and 62 by Rivals.com.

Middleton played at The Patrick School in New Jersey his sophomore season then moved to Sunrise Christian for the 2021-22 campaign.

Middleton visited KU unofficially for the Kentucky game last January. Middleton at one time also had Kansas State, Xavier, DePaul, Penn State, Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Texas Tech on his list.

“Who can be the most honest (and) what school fits my game the most,” Middleton told prospectiveinsight.com, asked what he is looking for in a college. “I don’t want to go to a school where I can’t fit into their offense and defense. I want to go to a school that helps me on and off the court. Right now I’m a wing. I can play point guard, but I want to transition to more of that.”

Of Middleton, Sunrise Christian coach Luke Barnwell told Zagsblog.com: “He is skilled and has great feel for the game. Scotty is a willing passer and is key for us on the defensive end of the floor.”
