Kansas Jayhawks join Michigan State, Texas on list of No. 35 recruit in 2023 class
Braelon Green, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior-to-be combo guard from Dream City Christian High School in Glendale, Arizona, has narrowed his list of prospective colleges to Kansas, Michigan State, Arizona State, Tennessee and Texas, On3.com reports.
Green is ranked No. 35 in the recruiting Class of 2023 by ESPN.com, No. 54 by Rivals.com and No 99 by 247sporrts.com.
Green, who is from Southfield, Michigan, has cut Missouri, Alabama, Maryland, USC, Washington, Nebraska, Mississippi State and others from his list. He has made unofficial trips to Arizona State and Michigan State. He told On3.com he plans to visit both Tennessee and Texas at some point this summer.
“Kansas speaks for itself. They just won a national title and I love the winning tradition that they bring,” Green told On3.com. He told 247sports.com he will “probably” choose a school in August.
Of Michigan State perhaps being the leader, Green told Zagsblog.com in February: “That’s not accurate. I’m not saying I won’t go there, but I still have options. I think it’s because I’ve been there all the time and it’s close to my house.”
KU offers scholarship to 7-footer
Dennis Evans, a 7-1, 210-pound senior-to-be center from Hillcrest High School in Riverside, California, has been offered a scholarship by KU, 247sports.com reports.
He is ranked No. 22 in the recruiting Class of 2023 by 247sports.com and No. 141 by Rivals.com.
Evans, who has a 7-foot-7 wingspan, also has Missouri, Texas, Florida State, Minnesota, TCU and others on his list.
“The intriguing prospect started playing basketball during his seventh grade season and has made progress year after year, with a significant jump happening over the last two years. He doesn’t turn 17 until July, so age is on his side as well,” wrote Travis Graf of Rivals.com.
“Evans might be the best shot blocker in his class. He doesn’t just lock down the paint, but locks down everything inside the three-point line. Offensively, he’s a work in progress and has some moments that make you scratch your head but then flashes of what he can be make your jaw drop. You can tell that Evans hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential,” Graf added.
Omaha Biliew wants to visit KU, ISU
Omaha Biliew, a 6-8, 205-pound senior-to-be forward from Link Year Academy in Branson, Missouri, is planning on visiting Kansas and Iowa State in the near future, he told On3.com.
Biliew is ranked No. 9 in the recruiting Class of 2023 by ESPN.com and No. 17 by Rivals.com and 247sports.com.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Biliew has a final four of KU, ISU, Oregon and the NBA G League.
“Coach Self obviously just won another national championship. I just love the platform I’m on if I go there. Just the platform to play against Duke and other schools. They also said I could play the 3 if I came, and I’d be more open to playing my game,” Biliew told On3.com.
