This KU Jayhawks walk-on scored game-winner vs. Texas. Here’s his ad for Applebee’s

Kansas Jayhawks football walk-on Jared Casey’s acting career has officially begun.

Casey — the tight end who caught the game-winning two-point conversion in the Jayhawks’ 57-56 overtime victory over Texas on Saturday — had his Applebee’s commercial released by the company Thursday afternoon. The 30-second spot was filmed Tuesday in Lawrence.

For his role, Casey said he received $800 in cash and $1,000 in Applebee’s gift cards. He said he planned to take his KU teammates to the restaurant soon to use up some of his comps.

Casey ends the commercial with a reference to his game-winning play against Texas.

“Hey, you always gotta go for two,” Casey says, before winking at the camera.
