Kansas Jayhawks signing day tracker: Follow along as KU lands 2020 commitments

The Kansas football recruiting class started to come together early on Wednesday morning, with Michigan high school offensive lineman Garrett Jones becoming the first to sign at 6:40 a.m. Central.

Since then, coach Les Miles and KU have continued to add to their roster on early signing day, which has included three pledges from the Kansas City area.

Will Huggins, a 6-foot-7 tight end from Shawnee Mission South, was the second player to fill out his paperwork on Wednesday morning. He’s a consensus three-star recruit who picked KU over Oklahoma State, among others.

Caleb Taylor, a defensive end from Staley HS in Kansas City, signed shortly after. He’s rated a three-star prospect by Rivals and helped Staley to a district championship last season.

KU also added tight end Trevor Kardell, a Lee’s Summit West product who posted 1,944 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns in his high school career. He’ll also be joining the KU baseball team in Lawrence.

The Jayhawks listed 18 commitments as part of their 2020 class Wednesday. KU does not distinguish between scholarship and non-scholarship players on signing day.
