KU basketball releases nonconference schedule
The Kansas men’s basketball team will play Washington at the Sprint Center, a matchup announced Thursday afternoon as the Jayhawks released their full nonconference schedule for 2017-18.
KU, which last played Washington in 2008, will take on the Huskies as part of the Jayhawk Shootout on Dec. 6 in the Jayhawks’ only regular-season game in Kansas City.
Other highlights of the schedule include neutral-court matchups against Kentucky (Nov. 14) and Syracuse (Dec. 2).
“Once again, I think we’ve put together a very competitive nonconference schedule,” KU coach Bill Self said in a release. “Anytime you have Kentucky and Syracuse on your nonconference schedule at neutral sites gives the appearance of a terrific schedule.”
KU, which opens the regular season at home against Tennessee State, will play three Pac-12 schools (Washington, Arizona State, Stanford) and also will be making its first trip to Nebraska since 2011.
The Big 12 portion of the schedule will be released in August.
