Kansas freshman center Udoka Azubuike had surgery on Wednesday morning to repair torn ligaments in his left wrist, KU coach Bill Self announced Wednesday afternoon.

Azubuike’s procedure took place at the Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center in Akron, Ohio. Thomas Graham of Northwell Health in New York was the lead surgeon.

“The doctors informed us the procedure on Udoka was a complete success,” Self said in a release, “and we expect a full recovery by mid-summer.”
