KU women’s basketball team wins exhibition finale

The Kansas women’s basketball team closed out its two-game exhibition schedule with a victory on Sunday afternoon.

The Jayhawks defeated Washburn 81-57 at Allen Fieldhouse. They defeated Fort Hays State 98-71 in their other exhibition contest.

Jessica Washington led Kansas with 21 points in 25 minutes on 7-of-15 shooting from the floor. Aisia Robertson added 14 and Kylee Kopatich had 12. Caelynn Manning Allen contributed a team-high eight rebounds and seven points.

The Jayhawks scored 32 points on Washburn’s 27 turnovers.

Kansas will open the regular season on Sunday when it hosts Missouri State at 2 p.m.
