Recruit Deng Gak orally commits to Miami over KU, Florida

Deng Gak, a 6-foot-9 senior forward from Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., who made an official recruiting visit to Kansas last weekend, on Tuesday orally committed to the University of Miami.

Gak, who had a final list of KU, Florida and Miami, announced his decision on Twitter.

He thanked his family for supporting him and coaches who recruited him, adding, “After thinking long and hard I’ve decided the University of Miami is the best fit for me to continue my education and basketball career.”

He added, “Thanks to my coaches that have helped me get to this point.”

Gak is ranked No. 91 in the recruiting Class of 2017 according to Rivals.com.
