KU basketball recruiting: Billy Preston’s new list still includes Kansas
Billy Preston, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound senior forward from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., who is ranked No 8 in the recruiting Class of 2017 by Rivals.com, on Wednesday announced a final list of five schools.
They are: Kansas, Indiana, Maryland, Southern California and North Carolina State.
In announcing the five on Twitter, he actually added Indiana and N.C. State, while cutting Arizona from his previous list of four.
USC is believed to be the leader for Preston, who transferred from Dallas Advanced Prep to Oak Hill Academy for his final year of high school.
Jayhawks coaches visit with Gak
KU coaches as well as coaches from Florida on Wednesday were to meet with Deng Gak, a 6-9 senior forward from Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J. He is ranked No. 91 in the recruiting Class of 2017 by Rivals.com.
Gak announced this week he will visit KU on Oct. 21-23. He also will visit Indiana on Oct. 14-16, Miami (Fla.) on Sept. 23-25 and Florida on Oct. 7-9. He’s yet to set a date for a visit to his fifth finalist — Duke.
Sexton to visit Oklahoma State
Collin Sexton, a 6-1 senior guard from Pebblebrook High in Mableton, Ga., who is ranked No. 7 in the Class of 2017 by Rivals.com, will visit Oklahoma State this weekend, his brother told Zagsblog.com.
Sexton has visited Alabama and North Carolina State. He will visit KU for the Oct. 1 Late Night in the Phog. Scout.com reports several schools are in line for a final visit. They are: Arizona, Florida, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, North Carolina and Villanova.
