K-State kicker Jack Cantele on Lou Groza Award watch list
Kansas State junior Jack Cantele has been chosen as one of 30 kickers on the Lou Groza Award watch list to open the 2014 season.
Cantele, from Wichita’s Kapaun Mount Carmel, was 11 of 13 in field-goal attempts last season and 40 of 41 in extra-point attempts.
Cantele is the eighth K-State kicker to be on the Groza watch list. Brother Anthony Cantele was a semifinalist in 2012, Martin Gramatica won in 1997 and was runner-up in 1998, Jamie Rheem was a two-time runner-up in 1999 and 2000, Joe Rheem was a 2004 semifinalist and Brooks Rossman was on the 2007 watch list.
