▪ ABOUT KANSAS STATE (8-7, 1-1 Big 12): The Wildcats hope a 58-53 victory over TCU can be the spark that turns around a disappointing season. The home win snapped a three-game losing streak and also ended a slump for Marcus Foster. Wesley Iwundu also played some of his best basketball in that game. But Nino Williams continues to struggle after a promising start. …The Wildcats have not won a true road game this season and only won two last season.
▪ ABOUT OKLAHOMA (11-3, 2-0 Big 12): Outside of an early loss to rebuilding Creighton, it’s been a fantastic season for the Sooners. They have played their best recently, defeating Baylor by 10 at home and routing Texas on the road in their last two games. Buddy Hield, from Wichita’s Sunrise Academy, is the straw that stirs the drink, but Houston transfer TaShawn Thomas has been a big addition inside. He and Ryan Spangler make up one of the conference’s top frontcourts.
