▪ ABOUT COLUMBIA (1-0): Columbia was picked to finish second in the Ivy League, returns four starters and is led by guard Maodo Lo, a member of the German national team. Lo was an All-Ivy League pick last season, averaging 13.0 points and 3.0 assists.… Columbia starts four guards, but one of them is 6-foot-7 Alex Rosenberg and their lone post player is 7-1 center Conor Voss. Voss has been a role player the last two seasons and Friday’s win over Kean was his first start.
▪ ABOUT KANSAS STATE (1-0): Kansas State coach Bruce Weber has taken a unique approach to a three-game home stand at Bramlage Coliseum to open the regular season, dubbing the “Wildcat Invitational” and likening it to a tournament for his team. K-State defeated Maryland Eastern-Shore 80-53 last Friday in its season-opener, and closes out the stretch against South Dakota on Friday.… It’s the first game for K-State against an Ivy League school since opening the 1975 NCAA Tournament with a win over Penn.
