Kansas State moves up to No. 9 in AP poll, setting up top-10 showdown with TCU
Kansas State moved up to ninth in The Associated Press college football poll, setting up a matchup of top-10 teams Saturday when the Wildcats visit TCU, which jumped four spots to No. 6 after a last-second victory at West Virginia.
K-State, which throttled Oklahoma State 48-14, moved up two spots from No. 11.
The Wildcats-Horned Frogs game isn’t the only showdown on Saturday. It’s one of six games matching up top-20 teams.
In the Big 12, No. 10 Baylor will play at No. 19 Oklahoma.
Auburn moved up a spot to No. 3 behind No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 2 Florida State.
Among the big drops: Ole Miss fell five spots to No. 12. Georgia’s surprising 38-20 loss to Florida cost the Bulldogs eight spots in the rankings, falling to No. 17. Arizona took its second loss, 17-7 at UCLA, which dropped the Wildcats seven spots to No. 21.
K-State is also No. 9 in the coaches’ poll. Missouri, which took over first place in the SEC East, barely missed being ranked in both polls.
