• ABOUT KANSAS STATE (17-7, 7-4 Big 12):

The Wildcats are coming off a pair of impressive victories over Texas and Kansas. Could they experience a hangover from that high on Saturday? Moving past back-to-back home victories against ranked opponents may be challenging, but the Wildcats seem motivated to continue their winning streak. They have been a poor road team, losing four straight since beating TCU in mid-January. A victory away from home would further boost their NCAA Tournament resume. … Shane Southwell may need to play well for K-State to beat Baylor. He has averaged barely three points in K-State’s last four games.

• ABOUT BAYLOR (15-9, 3-8 Big 12):

The Bears have been one of the most disappointing teams in the Big 12 this season. They were expected to compete for a conference championship. Instead, they are heading for a bottom-four seed in the conference tournament. Their only Big 12 victories have come against bottom-feeder TCU and reeling Oklahoma State. Baylor does have talent, though. Isaiah Austin and Cory Jefferson are two of the best forwards in the league, and the Bears won several quality games early, including a neutral-court victory over Kentucky.
