K-State baseball team is Big 12 favorite in preseason poll
The Kansas State baseball team is favored to win the Big 12 for the first time.
On Tuesday, the Big 12 coaches released their preseason poll, and the Wildcats were picked to finish first. They received five first-place votes, edging Oklahoma State and TCU, which tied for second, for the top spot.
The poll is not a surprise. K-State won the Big 12 championship last season, and it returns the bulk of its roster, including star Ross Kivett. Still, it is a nice change for the program, which had never before been selected higher than fifth in the preseason poll.
Texas, Oklahoma, Baylor, West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas rounded out the poll.
