Kansas, Missouri and Kansas State women's teams all lose in conference play

Kansas coach Bonnie Henrickson could see the fear on the faces of her players while their teammate was face-first on the floor.

Late in the Jayhawks’ 75-55 loss at No. 9 Baylor on Sunday, freshman guard Keyla Morgan had a seizure after a collision into the shoulder of a teammate after taking a shot.

“It’s scary for all of us,” Henrickson said. “At least I get to be out there and I can hear her talk, see that she’s squeezing her hands and she can move her toes a little bit. ... She’s in a great place for medical care, and they’ll evaluate her at the hospital.”

Surrounded by medical officials and staff from both teams, Morgan was tended to for several minutes, at one point wildly kicking both legs, before being put on a stretcher and taken off the court.

“I’ve never seen nothing like that,” said Baylor guard Odyssey Sims, who scored 30 points.

Morgan had multiple seizures in high school in California, but Henrickson said it is the first time Morgan has had any such issues with the Jayhawks.

“It wasn’t on the shot, it was when she came off the shot and just ran into one of our players,” Henrickson said. “Just a freak, freak accident. ... It’s nobody’s fault.”

The Bears, 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12, stretched their home winning streak to 68 games.

CeCe Harper led Kansas, 7-7 and 0-2, with 15 points and seven assists.

Jessica Jackson scored 22 points and helped Arkansas hang on to a 69-66 victory over Missouri.

MU, 12-3 overall and 1-1 in the SEC, was led by Brianna Kulas and Morgan Eye, each with 18 points.
