  • Jayce Brown sustained a left-arm injury; likely out for the rest of the 2025 season.
  • Brown led K-State with 38 catches, 630 yards and five touchdowns to date.
  • K-State must adjust passing plan with two games left against Utah and Colorado.

An injury to Jayce Brown dampened the mood inside Kansas State’s celebratory locker room following a 14-6 victory against Oklahoma State on Saturday at Boone Pickens Stadium.

It appears the Wildcats will have to finish out the season without their best wide receiver.

“It doesn’t look very good,” Klieman said afterward. “I don’t know the exact injury, but he’s most likely done for the year.”

That is a disappointing development for K-State.

Brown has been one of the best receivers in the Big 12 this season. He entered the weekend with 38 catches for 630 yards and four touchdowns. He added to those numbers Saturday by grabbing three passes for 82 yards and a score against the Cowboys.

But he was unable to finish the game after he suffered an injury while making his final catch of the afternoon. Brown ran off the field in pain and was unable to return.

During the second half, Brown watched K-State from the sideline with his left arm in a sling.

Brown has been Avery Johnson’s favorite target in the passing game for several years. But K-State will need to look for new options in its final two games against Utah and Colorado.

“It hurts me, because of how talented of a receiver that Jayce is,” Johnson said. “Obviously, on the field, we want to have him. But he also goes about his work and he literally preps all week to be able to be ready to go in the games on Saturday. So it hurts me as a quarterback, but it also hurts me as his brother because that’s my guy. I never want to see anybody down like that, especially for an extended period.”
