Kansas State Wildcats get football commitment from Mill Valley offensive lineman
Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman has landed his first high school recruit of the spring.
LaMarcus Barber, a 6-foot-3 and 285-pound offensive lineman from Mill Valley, announced his intentions to play for the Wildcats this week via a post on social media.
Barber is a three-star recruit who chose K-State over Arkansas State and Iowa State. He was also beginning to receive interest from Arkansas, Boston College and Missouri before he decided to shut down his recruitment and commit to K-State.
He will be expected to compete for playing time on the interior of K-State’s offensive line once he arrives in Manhattan.
The Wildcats have had their eyes on Barber for quite some time. They were the first school to offer him a scholarship, and they invited him to Manhattan for several campus visits. He recently attended a spring practice.
Mill Valley continues to be a priority high school for K-State football recruiting. The Wildcats have also recently landed Kansas City players such as Mikey Bergeron, Gus Hawkins, Sam Hecht and Chris Tennant from the school in Shawnee.
Barber is the second player to commit to K-State for the 2026 recruiting class. He joins Texas defensive back Brandon Ford.
