Serena Sundell lands NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings as K-State women reach Sweet 16

Kansas State guard Serena Sundell did more than simply force overtime in a NCAA Tournament game against Kentucky when she made a jumper in the final seconds of regulation on Sunday.

That important shot helped the K-State women’s basketball team eventually win 80-79 in overtime, and it opened the door for Sundell to land a NIL deal with Buffalo Wild Wings.

Someone associated with the restaurant chain was impressed with Sundell and the Wildcats as they advanced to their first Sweet 16 in more than two decades. So much so, that Sundell posted an ad with Buffalo Wild Wings on social media after she returned to Manhattan on Monday.

In the ad, Sundell is surrounded by chicken wings from Buffalo Wild Wings. She is also wearing a Buffalo Wild Wings quarter-zip under a short description of her accomplishment and her new partnership with the restaurant.

“I sent the game to overtime!” the advertisement reads. “If you were at Buffalo Wild Wings, you would have seen it on all the TVs. B-Dubs is the official sports bar of March Madness.”

Sundell deserves a NIL deal after all she has done for the Wildcats this season.

The senior guard is averaging 13.9 points, 7.3 assists and 4.4 rebounds for a K-State team that has won 28 games and just advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2002.

Sundell has also broken the K-State record for career assists.

She helped K-State defeat Kentucky by scoring 19 points and sending out 14 assists over the weekend.

The Wildcats will look to extend their season even further in their next game, which will be played against the winner of USC and Mississippi State on Saturday in Spokane, Wa.
