Jerome Tang lands another high school basketball recruit for Kansas State Wildcats

Another day, another new basketball recruit for the Kansas State men’s basketball team.

Exavier Wilson, a 6-foot-1 point guard who currently plays for Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, Missouri, has committed to suit up for the Wildcats.

The three-star recruit chose K-State after visiting Manhattan for a campus visit last weekend along with Ashton Magee, a 6-foot-7 wing who committed to Jerome Tang on Wednesday.

Wilson picked K-State over West Virginia, Missouri State, Bradley, Saint Louis, Murray State and several other colleges.

Tang is clearly building for the future by adding Magee and Wilson in consecutive days.

K-State has not focused on high school recruits in recent years. David Castillo is the only freshman on the current roster, and Magee was the first addition for the recruiting cycle of 2025.

The Wildcats have spent more time trying to win with incoming transfers such as Coleman Hawkins and Dug McDaniel.

High school recruits don’t often provide as much early upside as veteran transfers. But Tang isn’t worried about that at the moment, as he is looking to add at least a few long-term players to the K-State basketball roster.

Still, Wilson is a talented scorer and distributor who will be expected to compete with Castillo and McDaniel when he arrives on campus this summer.
