Kansas State Wildcats land football transfer Jaron Tibbs, a wide receiver from Purdue
Chris Klieman has landed a notable transfer at a position of need for the Kansas State football team.
Jaron Tibbs, a sophomore wide receiver who caught 25 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns at Purdue this past season, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Thursday.
K-State will ask Tibbs to help replace the recent departures of Tre Spivey and Keagan Johnson.
Tibbs was a priority addition for the Wildcats after they lost those key wide receivers to the transfer portal. He is a 6-foot-3 and 214-pound playmaker from Indianapolis. He caught five passes for 42 yards as a freshman and then stepped into a larger role with the Boilermakers this season.
Tibbs entered the transfer portal after Purdue parted ways with head coach Ryan Walters at the conclusion of a 1-11 season.
K-State has been hard at work recruiting since the regular season came to an end.
The Wildcats have lost more than a dozen players to the transfer portal. Tibbs is the second incoming transfer that Klieman and his coaching staff have landed. Tibbs joins Oklahoma transfer cornerback Jordan Rowe in that group.
